A Quick Hike in the Woods—What Could Go Wrong?
Quick post here today. It’s Friday, so I’m over at the SleuthSayers mystery writers blog with a post about what to bring on a day hike. I know—it’s a little out there for me. I’m no Bear Grylls, but the post is appropriate this summer for two reasons:
During the pandemic I ghostwrote a book for NBC’s Dr. John Torres, their chief medical and science correspondent. It’s an awesome book called Dr. Disaster’s Guide to Surviving Everything. In the book, he talks about the wisdom of toting a well-equipped bag with you even if you’re hiking on a lovely day.
Recently, Denise and I went on just such a hike with the pooch, didn’t take one of those bags, and lived to regret it.
Today’s post offers an itemized list of stuff to take with you.
Check it out here:
The Day-Hike Bag We Should Have Brought (But Didn’t)
Some months back, Dr. Torres was kind enough to do a column for SleuthSayers on one of his favorite topics: spotting medical flaws in movies and TV shows.

I talk about Dr. T’s book on the ghostwriting page of my website as well. Check out the description here.
Have a great day, and let’s be careful out there.
