Audiobook of Sorceress Kringle is Live!
My novel Sorceress Kringle is live and available for purchase in the Apple audiobooks store! This is the sixth book of mine to go live for readers who prefer to consume books that way. It’s the third novel of mine to become an audiobook.
You can check out the book right here, and buy it outright for $6.99. It’s an epic fantasy novel for grown-ups—NOT KIDS—that imagines that Santa Claus is actually a woman, and has very good reasons for hiding her identity.
I like to say that it’s sort of what would happen if the Santa Claus myth smacked right into Game of Thrones, but I still think my fantasy worlds, for all their sex and violence, are still much sweeter than George R.R. Martin’s.
A long time ago, I read Mary Stewart’s marvelous series of books about the Arthurian Legend, which was grounded as much in history as it was in myth. I tried to do the same with Santa Claus: how can I mesh history with fantasy and come up with something cool and different?
I do have a sweet spot in my heart for this book, since it took me something close to three years and a half million words to get right. I love it, and consider it to be some of my best work. When it first pubbed in 2019, I shared a post here talking about why a female Santa Claus makes a whole heck of a lot of sense. You can check out that post right here:
Eight Arguments for a Female Santa Claus!
I like the Apple Audiobooks version, which is digitally narrated with a woman’s voice, but a human narrator would probably be a much better choice for this book, because of the extensive foreign words and phrases. I’m working on locating the perfect human narrator, but in the meantime, the digital version is a great way to experience 17 hours of audio—yes, it’s a long book!—at an unbeatable price.
If you are interested in audiobooks, I hope you’ll check out the current crop that I currently have available—Murder on Book Row, Jersey Heat, and Arm of Darkness, and now Sorceress Kringle—if you find their content (and price points) attractive. Only available on Apple and via the Overdrive system in libraries.
More are coming!
